Rated at up to 170A per UL & CSA criteria, FCI's BarKlip right angle bus bar connectors are specifically designed for applications requiring a direct pluggable connection to an uninsulated bus bar. FCI claims that the connectors offer improved electrical performance and long-term reliability compared with alternative designs.

The connectors feature a maximum resistance of only 0.2mΩ per connector, whilst generating very little energy loss. Featuring 10 fully independent cantilevered beams, the connectors provide a true compliant spring to adjust for variations in bus-bar alignment and surface finish. With their low profile design and <25mm installed height, the connectors are suitable for use in 1U rack-mounted equipment commonly used in Datacenters and new Hyperscale Computing architectures. The connectors have an operating range of between -40°C and 125°C, increasing their end-use versatility.

“The BarKlip connector provides a convenient, low loss, and highly reliable method to connect to many of FCI’s Bus Bar Power Distribution Solutions” says Michael Blanchfield, Portfolio Director for Power Solutions at FCI. “FCI’s proprietary plating technology adds an additional benefit to customers by providing maximum conductivity and longer-term reliability without concerns for corrosion. We are confident the BarKlip products will meet many of our customers’ demands for high reliability in direct connect bus-bar applications.”

Officially released at the 2014 DesignCon trade show, samples of the BarKlip connectors are available now.
