Multi-Contact's versatile CombiTac connector system now includes the option to include high density data modules. The compact contact carriers, housing up to 20 poles with 0.6 mm diameter contacts, are ideal where space constraints require a small footprint.
The connectors are extremely reliable, with their Multilam technology giving a rated 300 000 mating cycles and low contact resistance. Reliability is helped by an inner wall between the gold-plated pins to protect against mechanical damage.

The low insertion force units are suitable for cable cross-sections of 0.14 to 0.25 mm2, and three types of termination are available: crimp, solder and flow soldering for PCBs.

Mechanical coding of the contact carriers prevents incorrect connection, and the contacts are numbered for easy identification. The socket is IP2X touch protected when unmated.

Typical applications include industrial test and measurement, factory automation, medical equipment and aeronautic equipment testing.

In addition to the new data contact carriers, the CombiTac system can be fitted with any combination of high voltage, high current, fibre optic, power, thermocouple, coaxial, pneumatic and fluid connectors. The carriers are housed in a compact, robust frame for panel mounting or can be built into DIN coupler hoods.
