The connector delivers highly reliable connection technology and meets the demanding durability and quality requirements of real-time Ethernet applications in industrial automation. Using a retrofit platform, the CHC also offers optional inserts with 11 contacts plus PE (protected earth).
Engineered for industrial applications with fast communication, the connector meets the VARAN (Versatile Automation Random Access Network) standard, the industrial Ethernet based protocol used in factory automation. Typical applications include welding, stamping, milling and injection moulding operations.
Michael Steuer, Global Product Manager, Industrial, TE Connectivity, commented: “By combining power supply and data into one single connector, customers can achieve a higher degree of design flexibility, especially for manufacturers of injection moulding machines. Thanks to its VARAN-bus standard compatibility, the connector supports, for example, fast change-over times of molds in molding machines and simplified cabling reduces installation time by up to 50%.”
