“If there are test certificates for the cables, the time and effort required for customs clearance and commissioning reduces drastically,” explained Justin Leonard, the-chain director, igus.
The special braided shielding of these cables provides high EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) protection, which means that these Ethernet cables can be used safely alongside drive cables. They have been successfully tested in the igus test laboratory for more than 76 million strokes with a bend radius of 9.5x diameter and are available from stock from one metre length.
With more than 1,300 types, igus offers a wide range of energy chain cables with international approvals, including UL listed cables. For exporting companies, this makes an easy market entry into the United States, because the UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is the most well-known and comprehensively accepted test organisation in the USA. It regularly publishes standards and certifies products, such as the igus cables.
