OKW has introduced the ‘COMTEC’ range of sloping front keypad enclosures. These modern enclosures feature an attractive ‘softline’ design with an ergonomically inclined (10º) operating area, which guarantees comfortable operation of the controls.
Typical applications will include telecoms equipment, intercoms, surveillance devices, data collection, point-of-sale terminals and a broad range of instrumentation.

‘COMTEC’ enclosures are moulded in off-white, RAL 9002 or black, RAL 9005 ABS (UL 94 HB), with custom colours and materials available on request. Each case consists of a top and base moulding, and optionally, a battery compartment lid. Assembly is by an interlocking system at the front and by two screws at the rear, which also allows easier access if the cases are mounted on a wall.

A useful range of seven standard sizes is offered with external dimensions from 120 x 150 x 43 mm to 290 x 200 x 79 mm. Four sizes are available with a battery compartment aperture in the base section which is designed for mounting an accessory battery cradle. Three types of battery cradle are offered: one 9V cell, two 9V cells or four 1.5V AA cells. A clip-on battery compartment lid is also provided.

The top panel is recessed for mounting membrane keypads or product labels. Screw pillars are moulded inside the cases for mounting PCBs and assemblies.
