Previously, the choice of EMC shielding for Schroff cases, subracks or systems has consisted of stainless steel gaskets for temperature ranges in excess of 85°C, or textile gaskets for temperatures below 70°C. Closing the gap, Pentair has announced that it is offering a textile EMC gasket, covering an extended temperature range of up to 85°C.

Responding to demand for applications and components used at higher temperatures (e.g. for storage temperatures of -40 to +85°C), specialised uses include rail, defence systems and medical technology.

The textile gaskets can be easily glued into place and implemented in U front panels. Similar in design to the earlier textile EMC gasket, the gasket incorporates a different adhesive and features a silicone core, rather than one made from TPE foam. These new materials allow the gasket to be used at higher temperatures, with shielding levels of 30-800dB - an increase of 8-10dB on earlier versions.

In addition to the aforementioned silicone-core gasket, the previous textile component, suitable for up to 70°C, is still being offered, as is the stainless steel gasket for temperatures over 85°C.
