OKW has extended the range of rubber protectors for its ‘DATEC-CONTROL’ enclosures which are designed for housing hand-held electronics frequently used outside or in harsh indoor environments. Typical applications include test and measurement systems, controller devices and data loggers.
The new protector range now includes all four case sizes: XS, S, M and L, previously only sizes XS and S were covered. The protectors are designed to protect the enclosure and electronics from bumps and knocks during use, and are easily attached to the case.

Two types of protector are offered: Type I for sizes XS and S have apertures in the keypad area and on the front side for access to plug connectors etc, plus a ring in the bottom end for a wrist strap. Type II for sizes M and L consist of two parts, have top and front apertures, and are offered with or without a shoulder strap. The material is grey TPE. Prices for the protectors start at £6.

‘DATEC-CONTROL’ cases feature a narrow holding area for increased user comfort, and a large display area for LCD modules. For outdoor use, the cases can be sealed to IP 65. Battery compartments will accept two, four or five 1.5V AA cells or one or two 9V cells. The recessed top panel allows fitting of a membrane keyboard or product label, and a barcode scanner can be mounted under the display area. The cases are moulded in off-white or black ABS (UL 94 HB) with external dimensions from 200 x 94 x 39 mm to 266 x 144 x 60 mm.

OKW can supply the ‘DATEC-CONTROL’ cases with additional holes for push-buttons, connectors and displays, plus silk-screen printed legends and logos, and EMC shielding.
