Suitable for applications including medical and therapeutic systems, measurement and control technology, home automation, peripherals and building services electronics, OKW has introduced the SYNERGY electronic enclosures range. The range is comprised of 36 individual enclosures manufactured from both plastic and aluminium for added strength and versatility.

The SYNERGY range utilises OKW’s fast-connect system based around four internal assembly pillars which hold each enclosure together. Glass reinforced polyamide pillars snap in to the recessed top panel, locate the assembly extrusion and are fixed to the bottom part with four stainless steel Torx T10 anti-tamper screws. This allows several pillars to be snapped together to create custom heights in 5mm increments.

Extruded from AlMgSi 0.5 aluminium, the main body section of each case is blasted with glass beads and anodised in silver (or black on request) to create a very high quality finish. All anodising is performed by a specialist company. Manufactured from UV-resistant ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0), the top and base sections are supplied black (RAL 9005) as standard. Custom colours can be specified on demand.

Ensuring maximum versatility and efficient use of space, PCBs can be mounted in the top and bottom. Cable diameters of up to 3mm can be routed out of the bottom part and there is additional space for interfaces on the other surfaces. Options and accessories include battery compartments for three or four 1.5V AA cells, an extender kit for the PCB pillars and a wall suspension kit (SYNERGY can be wall mounted with only one screw).

The SYNERGY enclosures are available now in square or edge (rectangular) models in sizes of: 100x100, 120x120, 140x140, 160x80, 180x90 and 200x100mm (all with heights of 40, 70 or 100mm). Prices start from £31.
