There are many situations where outdoor signage panels need to be opened or where vehicle locker doors need to be removed. EMKA have specifically addressed these situations with their 1031, 1056 and 1097 programs of hinges and door stays. Cases in point would include frequent change signs, e.g. at petrol stations, or storage lockers on breakdown trucks or emergency vehicles. These vehicles all need removable doors, e.g. for when they are parked up as a fixed operational centre in order to enable easy, rapid access to equipment.

The 1031 program of internal hinges in zinc plate or AISI 304 stainless steel feature self-retaining pins whereas the 1056 in zinc die or AISI 316 stainless are externally mounted lift-off type with fixed hinge pins. The 1031-U14 variant in AISI 304 incorporates spring loaded pins in a 126mm format.

Frequently opened signs often suffer from wind-closure, sometimes quite violently, with the danger of injury to operating personnel. Consequently, EMKA offer their 1097 program AISI 303 stainless steel telescopic door stay with push button release to ensure that once opened large doors/panels stay open as needed and keep personnel safe.
