An SBC with Intel Celeron Quad Core N2930/Atom Dual Core E3825 processor has been released by Advantech. The MIO-3260, which is suitable for industrial, medical POS and home automation applications, can be used in two ways: as a carrier board or as a standalone unit.

The SBC is a light weight 2.5” MI/O-Ultra product. Its total height with heatsink is only 25.8mm, allowing the device to meet the compact size-requirements for slim chassis applications. The MIO-3260 shortens set-up procedures and offers enhanced stability and durability. It’s a fanless thermal solution that is dust-free and noiseless, and offers longer MTBF, zero fan maintenance and 24/7 operation. In addition, the SBC operates from -40 to +85°C.

The SBC delivers outstanding CPU performance with up to Quad core processing. Its Intel Celeron N2930 processor version almost doubles the performance upgrade compared to previous generation Intel Atom N2800 processors. The graphics on the MIO-3260 is based on Gen 7 Intel Graphics Architecture with support for DirectX 11, Open GL 4.0 and OpenGL 1.2; and it has full HD video playback, video transcoding and encoding functionalities. The device retains a 5Vsb/12Vsb power supply for power-exchange processing which offers a higher throughput yet consumes less power, and can integrate existing data without sacrificing software compatibility.

The SBC represents a flexible, modularised design solution through its internal connectors. By connecting with two 64-pin expansion connectors, system integrators can use a carrier board to support the necessary I/O interfaces. With no cabling, the device delivers a number of I/O interface options, including one full-size Mini-PCIe, two COM ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, LPC, SMBus, I2C, 18/24-bit LVDS, VGA, Display Port or HDMI, 5Vsb/12Vsb power, a Power/Reset button, Power/HDD LED, HD audio line-in/out /Mic-in, and 8-bit GPIO.

The MIO-3260 includes Advantech’s exclusive SUSIAccess remote management software, which provides real-time synchronised hardware and software monitoring and maintenance for complete protection. It offers up to 70% time saving on trouble shooting with real-time remote monitoring and proactive alarm notifications that ensure continued system health and allow remote diagnosis and recovery in any situation. SUSIAccess also provides other powerful utilities such as System Recovery (powered by Acronis), System Protection (powered by McAfee) and Remote KVM, for protection against, and recovery of, possible system faults.
