New from electronics packaging specialist Schroff is a ruggedised PCB retainer with an innovative 7-segment design, which results in a more even distribution of the clamping force and improved thermal transfer between the PCB and the chassis cold wall.
Developed by Calmark, one of Schroff’s sister companies within the Pentair Technical Products Group, the new Card-Lok device is ideal for securing PCBs and helping to dissipate heat in systems that are subjected to high levels of vibration. Typical applications are likely to be in avionics, defence, transportation, and the oil and gas industries.

The PCB retainer features a light-weight aluminium construction using solid-frame extrusion for maximum rigidity and resistance to distortion under load, enabling the device to achieve clamping forces in excess of 3000N.

Available in a variety of standard lengths up to 330mm, the
7-segment Card-Lok can be specified with black anodised, chemical film or electroless nickel finishes and either metric or imperial mounting-hole threads.

In addition to the standard range, the device can be customised to suit the needs of a particular application – for example, using non-standard lengths, special finishes or modified mounting holes.
