MSC Technologies’s MSC Q7-BT Qseven module family is based on the new Intel Atom processor E3800 product technology (formerly codenamed “Bay Trail”). The computer-on-modules close the gap between the high-end COM Express boards with Intel Core processors and the existing Intel Atom based Qseven modules at the entry level.

The performance/watt optimised Qseven modules are designed for versatile applications in future markets, e.g. mobile and battery systems. The MSC QT-BT Qseven 2.0 modules are available for both the commercial and industrial temperature range.

The MSC Q7-BTQseven module family is offered in five variants. The IntelAtom-processor E3845 (1.91GHz, 10W TDP) expands the available performance limit by offering quad-core performance on a x86 technology Qseven platform for the first time.

The modules with dual-core IntelAtom processors E3827 (1.75GHz, 8W TDP), E3826 (1.45GHz, 6W TDP) and E3825 (1.33GHz, 6W TDP) and the module with E3815 IntelAtom processor (1.46GHz, 5W TDP) with one CPU core for less demanding applications are pin and software compatible. The powerful Intel Gen 7 Graphics offers a high-resolution graphics 3D functionality and supports DirectX 1.1, OpenCL 1.1 and OpenGL 3.2.

MSC Technologies integrates into the MSC Q7-BT Qseven modules up to 4GB DDR3 DRAM and implements an optional an error correcting code (ECC) that delivers a high level of data integrity, reliability, and system uptime which is ideal for many intelligent systems with demanding high security levels. The boards’ high reliability is augmented by the processor’s virtualization capability and built-in security engine.

The new Qseven module family offers a broad range of modern interfaces like USB 3.0 Host and optional USB 3.0 Device, 3 x PCIe x1 Gen. 2.0, Gbit Ethernet, audio, LPC, I2C, SMBus, SPI Bus and SATA-300. DDI Display Interface for HDMI, DisplayPort and embedded DisplayPort (eDP) and LVDS are available. Optionally, up to 64 GB SATA SSD and additional up to 64GB eMMC Flash Disk can be assembled.
