Mini-ITX motherboard meets POS system requirements

Designed for POS (Point of Sale) systems, the HM101-QM87 Mini-ITX motherboard has been launched by DFI. As a POS includes two monitors, one for the retailer and another for the customer, it requires a computer system that supports flexible I/O ports and responsive computing ability. To meet this requirement, the company have based the motherboard on the 4th gen Intel Core processor family, which provides high processing performance graphics display support.

With four display ports, HDMI, DVI-I, LVDS and DP, the motherboard’s onboard graphics provides retailers with increased flexibity. The HM101-QM87 is also equipped with two DDR3L SODIMM sockets that support up to 16GB.

Highlighting the motherboard’s I/O flexibility are it’s two LAN ports, eight USB ports, two SATA 3.0 ports with RAID 0/1, two COM ports, LPC connector and 4-bit input and 4-bit output GPIO.

The motherboard is offered with two power types, a default 12V DC-in jack or an optional 4-pin power connector which allows retailers to save power.
