The Gizmo 2 is a powerful development board that features an open hardware design that can be easily customised. The board includes the AMD GX-210HA dual-core processor, combined on a single die with AMD Radeon HD 8210E discrete-class graphics, providing 85 GFLOPS compute performance while drawing only 9 watts.
It is ideal for development projects that require great performance, and the ability to control external objects and take inputs from many sources such as sensors and the Internet. Its wealth of leading features and capabilities includes an HDMI dedicated port, extra PCIe, SD card slot for added mass storage and nonvolatile memory, an mSATA port for connecting SSDs and a microSD card slot.
The Gizmo 2 can be used for a wide spectrum of development projects: embedded development, microcontroller applications, multi-core engineering, industrial control and automation, gaming systems, digital signage, medical, network appliances, and more.
“We’re very proud to be launching this state-of-the-art x86 board from GizmoSphere,” said David Shen, Chief Technology Officer of Premier Farnell. “With the ability to run both Windows and Linux, this new board will help professionals and makers develop a vast array of powerful embedded designs with the power of a PC processor.”
