DigiKey stocks Infineon evaluation platform

Now being shipped by authorised distributor DigiKey is Infineon’s EVAL-PS-DP-MAIN-M5 evaluation platform.

It was developed to help users investigate the switching behaviour of SiC MOSFETs or IGBTs and their corresponding gate drivers packaged in through-hole TO-247 and TO-247 PLUS packages.

This universal evaluation platform combines with EiceDRIVER gate driver IC daughter cards to demonstrate driving options for discrete power semiconductors in TO247 three-pin and four-pin packages. It includes a motherboard and gate driver card, designed modularly for future expansion. The motherboard supports up to 800 V and 130 A pulsed current operation.

This board supports two distinct operating modes for either switching or efficiency measurements.

Using this board, the switching behaviour and switching losses of the devices can be analysed under various conditions. It is simple to alter variables such as the gate voltage, load current, device temperature, and DC-link voltage.

The board can also be used as a step-up or step-down DC/DC converter.

A built-in power resistor and thermistor monitor allow adjustment and measurement of the heatsink temperature for extended characterization.

The board features multiple configurations and measurements using the same board and test points for easy probing during measurements.

The complete kit contains driver daughter card, MOSFET samples, load inductor, and heatsink.

Fast setup is enabled using gate driver daughter cards and XMC controller card and a flexible modular construction for future expansion

Applications cover servo motor drive and control, solar photovoltaic, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), EV charging and energy storage systems
