10 COM port SBC targets gaming industry
A Mini-ITX form-factor SBC, which supports up to 10 COM ports, has been released by Acrosser. Featuring 1 x RS232, 1 x RS2323/485, and 8 x RS232 pin headers, the AMB-IH61T3 is particularly suitable for use within the gaming industry.
With its ports, the board computer can add more depth and interactivity to games through integrating multiple gaming peripherals. In the case of gaming machines or arcade vendors, these peripherals could include buttons, lamps, hoppers, or a coin acceptor.
The SBC is also suited to applications within the automation industry, where the interconnection of multiple industrial measurement devices is a requirement. Such devices include include sensors, PLCs, servos, inverters, temperature controllers, barcode scanners and air quality monitors. With suitable design and verification, the board computer can integrate these devices and provide a control centre solution for industrial environments.
