A public API which enables creators of 3D content to integrate a 3D print button for their models, connecting their users to a network of over 16,000 3D printers, has been introduced by 3D Hubs.

Through Teleport, 3D printable content is directly linked to the 3D Hubs network of local 3D printers. The API simplifies the process of 3D printing as it removes the need of downloading or uploading 3D files completely.

3D Hubs has launched the Teleport API to unlock the world's 3D content by making it instantly printable. Via the platform, the company enables any design to be made anywhere in the world with the embedding of one simple print button.

Companies including Autodesk, Thingiverse, Sketchfab and Instructables have already integrated the 3D Hubs API. While this is just the start, these partners already offer close to 1m digital designs ready for 3D printing, kickstarting the application of Teleport.
