Polymeric PTCs provide over-current protection

While maintaining USB 3.1 Type C data integrity, Littelfuse USB 3.1 Type C Circuit Protection offers overcurrent and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection. The host and all self-powered hubs must implement over-current protection for safety purposes and the hub must have a way to detect the over-current condition and report it to the USB software.
