Littelfuse, Inc. announced the introduction of the SP3011 Series for USB 3.0 ESD protection, a six-channel, ultra-low capacitance diode array packaged in a 3.5x1.35x0.5mm µDFN-14.
The SP3011-06UTG presents an extremely low parasitic capacitance of only 0.40pF, which minimizes signal degradation on the four super-speed (5Gbps) and two legacy (480Mbps) data lines. Furthermore, each channel provides ESD protection at the maximum level specified in the IEC61000-4-2 international standard (Level 4, ±8kV contact discharge).

It is suitable for electronic devices that use USB 3.0 such as set top boxes, LCD/PDP TVs, external hard disk drives, notebooks, desktops, and smart phones. Furthermore, the SP3011 offers one of the lowest dynamic resistances (1.5Ω) per capacitance of any competitive device.

The new SP3011 Series is RoHS compliant and complies with the following standards:

• ESD, IEC61000-4-2, ±8kV (contact), ±15kV (air)
• Lightning, IEC61000-4-5, 3A (tP=8/20µs)
• EFT, IEC61000-4-4, 40A (tP=5/50ns)

Availability

The SP3011 Series is available in tape and reel, 3000 quantity. Contact a Littelfuse sales representative for price and delivery information, or to request samples.
