Electronic Specifier is proud to announce its inaugural event tailored for Women in Technology and Engineering which is set to take place on 2 November 2023.

The intimate gathering is scheduled to be held at the elegant Curve Club private members venue in London, providing a platform for a select group of senior women in the field of STEM to discuss necessary topics and the crucial role women play in shaping the future of engineering and technology.

The programme is designed to foster meaningful dialogue, and the event is expected to start in the afternoon with refreshments on arrival followed by a keynote and panel before transitioning into the evening where there will be dinner and drinks.

Head of Product Development at 52 North, Ama Frimpong, will be leading the event with her Keynote. Winner of the IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year, Ama’s career is marked by innovation and leadership, and she brings with her a wealth of experience. Her insights will undoubtedly set the stage for inspiring conversations throughout the evening.

Following on from Ama will be a panel session featuring a line-up of accomplished women in technology and engineering: Emma Crichton, Innovation Director at Engineers Without Borders UK; Natalia Adamson, Lead Project Engineer at Ricardo; Ebony Allison, Hardware Design Engineer at Sky; Sarah Mlundira, Head of Engineering Change at XP Power. The event will provide an ideal opportunity for networking, with participants exchanging ideas, experiences, and forging valuable connections within the industry.

"We recognise the importance of a diverse and inclusive environment – especially within technology and engineering. Our hope is that this event will be a platform for women to share their ideas, perspectives, and experiences to further contribute to the advancement of women in technology and engineering," comments Sheryl Miles, Associate Editor and Head of Women in Technology for articles, columns, and co-ordination at Electronic Specifier.

Paige West, Managing Editor at Electronic Specifier, said: “As technology continues to play an increasingly integral role in our lives, the importance of gender diversity and equal representation becomes ever more pronounced. Our Women in Technology event aims to shed light on the incredible strides made by women and highlighting their invaluable contributions across various sectors within technology. Through this event, we aim to create a supportive community that encourages dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship.”

This event endeavours to highlight the remarkable achievements women contribute to the industry, as well as the potential for further innovation and progress.

By gathering these accomplished senior women, Electronic Specifier aims to facilitate discussions that will help shape the future of the industry.
