The road to zero emission commercial vehicles

Whilst electrification of the passenger car market attracts many of the headlines, commercial vehicle markets, spanning delivery vans, medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and buses are also evolving at pace.

The reality is that to limit the impact of climate change and to protect the health of populations in congested urban environments there must be a rapid and almost total decarbonisation of all forms of on-road transport.

Although electric vehicles come at premium over traditional ICE vehicles, in the commercial vehicle sphere, the greater appreciation of total cost of ownership over upfront cost will be a considerable boon to EV uptake, with fleet operators increasingly identifying that electric commercial vehicles can offer their businesses a cost advantage whilst delivering on emission reduction targets.

This webinar presents an overview of IDTechEx's latest electric commercial vehicle research, with material from our new reports 'Electric Truck Markets 2021-2041' and 'Electric, Hybrid & Fuel Cell Light Commercial Vehicles 2021-2041'. The coronavirus pandemic has had considerable impact on the automotive industry.

In light of this, IDTechEx's new report forecasts account for the impact of COVID-19. The company has also extended its forecasts to provide a 20-year outlook for electric commercial vehicles, both at the global scale and for key regions; China, the US and Europe.

Webinar topics:

  • Summary of the current electric light commercial vehicle, electric medium and heavy-duty truck, and electric bus markets, and IDTechEx's outlook for these sectors
  • The role for battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell electric vehicles
  • Electric light commercial vehicles, winning the TCO battle?
  • Background to IDTechEx's new granular forecasts for electric light commercial vehicles and electric trucks.

IDTechEx will be hosting the same webinar three times in one day, so please join which ever session is the most convenient for you. Spaces are limited.
