iC-Haus presents the next installment of its webinar series, presenting the new mixed-signal circuit iC-NQE, an innovative solution for boosting the performance of sin/cos angle and linear position sensors. The webinar will take place on 20th May 2025 at 9:30am. Speaker Joachim Quasdorf will provide insights into the technology, functions, and application areas of the new IC. Participation is free of charge.

Robust magnetic angular and linear position sensors typically use coarse scale gratings to achieve a comfortable reading distance. The resolution on the input side is low, and the signal processing and conversion requirements to obtain an accurate position are correspondingly high. Furthermore, linear applications tend to require higher movement speeds without compromising on standstill accuracy: a stable position with low jitter is an absolute must. The new iC-NQE signal converter meets these demanding requirements and offers further advantages in the application.

The new iC-NQE is a highly integrated mixed-signal circuit for magnetic XMR, inductive, and optical position sensors with real-time 16-bit sine-to-digital conversion and precise analog and digital signal processing. Additional system functions such as status monitoring and the necessary cable drivers for incremental quadrature and absolute BiSS data output are integrated, saving costs and valuable board space in the sensor read head. Applications include absolute and incremental position encoders, drive speed and torque control, brushless motor commutation, robots, AGVs, and many more. On the control side, e.g. on IPC interface cards, in drives or PLCs, iC-NQE could also be used as a 32-bit counter module for input signals of up to 500kHz.

iC-NQE is a match for the inductive sensor front-end iC-GI22, which will be demonstrated in the webinar.
