Behind the scenes of electronica 2012 with Energy Micro

One of the biggest electronics show, electronica, just ended after four days with more than 72,000 visitors from 78 countries. The Energy Micro team was present and met interested engineers and demonstrated products and applications.

Andreas (VP of Sales and Marketing) introduced various low power applications equipped with EFM32 MCUs. He gave an example of a laser distance meter from CEM and how the Gecko technology contributed to reducing the battery requirements to 50%.

Øyvind Janbu (CTO) also presented product plans for next year. We will release new product families based on ARM Cortex-M (M0+ and M4F), and low power RF transceivers covering multiple frequency bands and supporting both standard and proprietary wireless protocols.

Finally, Geir Førre (CEO) summarized the four days where we showcased low energy solutions such as ARM Cortex-M-based MCUs, energy harvesting module, and energy monitoring software tools. He thanked all the visitors and Energy Micro team members for making the show a great success.
