binder’s connector range meets the requirements of customers in a host of applications. In this interview with Electronic Specifier’s Mick Elliott, the company’s UK Sales Director Graham Ellis highlights the company’s portfolio that includes the broad-ranging M12 Series power connectors which are becoming increasingly popular in space-critical machines.

Of particular focus was the push-pull range, which stands out due to its IP67 rating, high mating cycles, and ease of use – attributes that satisfy professional requirements for robust and reliable interoperability. These connectors are valued by clients for their cost-effectiveness, providing both standard and custom solutions that cater to a broad range of specifications.

A significant part of the discussion highlighted binder’s M12 connector products, specifically the L, T, and S coded versions, designed for power applications. These connectors serve a wide array of industries, from conventional industrial sensor solutions to robotics and automation, illustrating binder’s adaptability to complex and evolving technical requirements. According to Ellis, the versatility of its products means applications are virtually limitless; common uses include standard industrial sensor networks, power supply connections, and more specialised automation systems.

Further, the conversation addressed the importance of durability in connector applications. Ellis elaborated on binder’s commitment to quality, explaining how the products are engineered to withstand shock, vibration, water ingress, and other environmental factors inherent to demanding operational contexts. To meet these objectives, binder employs a variety of materials – including plastics, brasses, and stainless steels – tailoring each connector to the specific needs of the customer’s application.

Customisation emerged as a core strength for binder. With 99% of components produced in-house, and most assembly performed at the German facility, binder is positioned to respond quickly to bespoke customer requirements, offering rapid lead times and efficient adaptation to unique needs.

The meeting further touched on the extensive product range, with binder offering over 7,500 standard products and the potential for tens of thousands of configurations thanks to interchangeable components. This breadth enables binder to meet both routine and highly specialised demands, with customer feedback consistently affirming the quality, reliability, and longevity of its solutions. While not specialising in Mil Spec products, many binder connectors find their way into military applications, a testament to their robust design and performance standards.
