DigiKey at embedded world 2024 with Littelfuse

At embedded world 2024, on the DigiKey booth, Paige West speaks with Marco Doms, Sr. Manager Business Development New Platforms at Littelfuse, about the TTape Platform.

Lithium-ion battery packs require careful thermal monitoring to stay within safe operating conditions and prevent cell degradation. Traditional temperature sensors, such as NTC thermistors, often fall short in response time and accuracy for critical applications. The TTape platform addresses these issues by allowing the placement of numerous sensing points across a multi-cell pack, which enhances the spatial resolution of temperature monitoring and streamlines the installation process. The TTape device features a two-wire interface that detects if any cells in the battery pack reach a critical operational temperature (for instance, 60°C). This device activates at a temperature of 58±3°C and resets at 42±3°C.
