Create a simple LED circuit with Scheme-it

This video provides an overview of how to create a simple LED circuit with Scheme-it, Digi-Key’s free online schematic drawing tool.
  1. Select parts – for pre-made electronic symbols, go to “Schematic Symbols” on the lefthand list. Power and ground are found under either “Sources” or “Ports.” For the LED, select “Optoelectronics” and choose the LED symbol of your choice. Resistors are under “Passives”.
  2. Arrange components – flip or rotate parts under “Object” for proper alignment. If the parts are symmetric, you can align them by selecting all the parts and using any of the “Align” buttons. Or you can place them manually.
  3. Connect components – click the green boxes that appear at the the ports of the different components and connect the appropriate components together.
