ARM frame buffer compression extends mobile battery life

ARM Frame Buffer Compression can reduce overall system level bandwidth and the power cost of transferring spatially coordinated image data throughout the system by up to 50%.

Here the potential bandwidth savings are demonstrated using 1080p video playback on a multi-core ARM Mali-V500 video processor, a Mali-DP500 display processor and NIC-400 in a Xilinx Virtex7 FPGA at 50MHz.
