Mouser Electronics, the New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the advisor programme at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), one of the leading universities in Europe for technical majors such as electrical and mechanical engineering.

The TUM advisor programme is a year-long initiative focused on enhancing the soft skills of first-year STEM students. Tailored to provide students with practical, real use-case challenges, the programme aims to cultivate proficient and knowledgeable engineers capable of communicating confidently, managing projects, and mastering the intricacies of successful teamwork.

“After an inspiring first year of collaboration on the advisor programme with TUM, Mouser is delighted once again to sponsor this innovative educational programme,” said Mark Patrick, Director of Technical Content, EMEA at Mouser Electronics. “At Mouser, supporting educational initiatives, and thus the next generation of engineers, has always been an important part of our mission. The programme enables first-year students to apply their engineering knowledge and learnings to real-world challenges – helping to power innovation and build self-esteem.”

As part of this partnership, Mouser collaborates with Arduino to present an interactive workshop at TUM. Mouser’s in-house engineers, Rafik Mitry and Aly Barakat, teach first-year STEM students about the fundamentals of circuit theory and pulse measurement.

“We are thrilled to continue the advisor programme partnership with Mouser in 2024,” commented PD Dr.-Ing. habil. Dirk Wollherr at TUM. “The students have gained great insight and learned valuable information and skills through Mouser’s in-person workshops. We are excited to see this collaboration grow further this year.”

Mouser and TUM's shared ambitions to nurture the next generation of engineers and empower innovation have resulted in a successful first year for the programme, paving the way for a prosperous partnership for the year ahead.
