Test solution takes aim at IoT, M2M markets

Vector Software will release an Internet of Things (IoT) – ready test solution, VectorCAST 6.3, at Embedded World 2015. The new VectorCAST tool suite is engineered to leverage Vector Software’s deep domain expertise in embedded safety-critical applications for use in less regulated markets, like Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M).

To realise this, VectorCAST 6.3 offers a very small memory footprint for test harnesses, enabling support for 8 bit processors with less than 1 kilobyte of RAM, necessary to support the small microprocessors needed for IoT / M2M applications.

“VectorCAST 6.3 offers organisations the ability to achieve robust quality gains,”saidBill McCaffrey, Chief Operating Officer, Vector Software. “As the market evolves, the need for an automated, thorough test solution that ensures that the embedded software works as intended is essential for successful IoT deployments”.

In conjunction with the product release, John Paliotta, Vector Software’s Chief Technology Officer will be speaking about “Five Actionable Ideas to get Quality Software to the Market Sooner”.

The presentation will focus on how automated embedded software testing helps organisations deliver quality applications to market quickly, without sacrificing quality.

At the talk, Paliotta will address the quality gap and how technologies like continuous integration, Change-Based Testing (CBT) and on target testing enable organizations to deliver robust software more quickly than previous test processes allowed.
