Swindon Silicon Systems to exhibit at SENSOR+TEST 2024

Swindon Silicon Systems, a mixed signal ASIC specialist and a Sensata Technologies company, will exhibit at SENSOR+TEST 2024 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, Germany from 11–13 June, 2024.

Stationed at Hall 1, booth 1-246, Swindon will demonstrate its capabilities in ASIC technology and offer advice on custom integrated circuit (IC) design for a sensor-driven, connected future. 

SENSOR+TEST is one of the leading trade fairs for sensors, measuring and testing technologies, attracting visitors from across the globe. At this year’s show, Swindon Silicon Systems, which designs, tests, and supplies custom ICs for the industrial and automotive markets, will demonstrate why mixed signal ASICs and integrated Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) sensor interface solutions are increasingly favoured across multiple sensor-driven applications.

A 2023 report from IoT Analytics projected that by 2025, the growth of IoT devices could increase to 27 billion connected devices. For Swindon, this highlights the potential of using ASICs in an increasingly connected world. These improvements in silicon design and manufacturing processes are introducing ASICs to many more applications, and the technology is crucial to delivering smarter, sensor-based capabilities. Therefore, it only makes sense for ASICs to be part of this year’s SENSOR+TEST theme – Welcome to the Innovation Dialogue.

“Embracing a custom IC device brings many advantages,” said Ross Turnbull, Director of Business Development and Product Engineering at Swindon Silicon Systems. “Considering increased digitalisation, they provide ways to better analyse and understand data-driven processes.

“The data harnessed from sensors can ultimately identify equipment inefficiencies, streamline manufacturing processes, and lead to both economic and ecological improvements by bridging the digital and analogue world. But, as an increasing number of manufacturers embrace digital technologies, finding a solution that differentiates your product from the rest, while delivering cost and performance benefits, is paramount,” continued Turnbull.

“In addition to the bespoke functionality of a custom solution, working with an ASIC supplier protects the originator’s intellectual property (IP), reduces the bill of materials (BoM) and guarantees component supply for the lifetime of a product, with no gaps in availability. For many, an ASIC will become the key to delivering a sensor-driven solution in our connected world. Therefore, we are showcasing our knowledge of this by entering this year’s SENSOR+TEST innovation dialogue.”
