Software reduces reflow oven’s power & gas consumption

At IPC APEX, 24th to 26th February in California, BTU International will exhibit in Booth #2409. Company representatives will demonstrate the PYRAMAX convection reflow oven with the new ENERGY PILOT software, which reduces electrical power and process gas consumption.

Featuring a maximum temperature of 400°C and a comprehensive menu of options, the convection reflow ovens provide optimised lead-free processing to enhance productivity and efficiency. The PYRAMAX systems utilise BTU’s exclusive closed-loop convection technology.

ENERGY PILOT is included in the latest release of BTU’s windows-based OS, WINCON. This software feature saves manufacturers money whenever the oven is idle; standby mode saves over 25% and sleep mode saves over 40%. Hibernate mode can be used to fully shut down the oven during long idle periods.

Using remote product sensors to minimise recovery times, this fully automatic process results in an overall reduction in electrical, air and nitrogen consumption.

In addition to PYRAMAX convection reflow ovens, the ENERGY PILOT feature is easily upgradeable on older BTU reflow ovens.
