Productronica attracted 38,000 visitors from nearly 80 countries for its 40th anniversary show including an increased presence from Asia/Pacific. Three test and measurement companies brought debut-making products to Bavaria. Pico Technology debuted the PicoSource PG900 Series pulse generators. These are high-speed, low-cost instruments for use in single-ended and differential pulsed measurement applications.

The fast-transition pulse can stimulate a transmission path, device or network with a broad-spectrum signal in a single instant. Such a pulse is essential for many of the high-speed broadband measurements that engineers need to make; for instance in time domain reflectometry, semiconductor test, gigabit interconnect and port test, and in radar system test.

The generators are typically used to drive broad spectral content into a 50 ohm cable, connector, RF semiconductor or other device under test.

Digitaltest’s debut maker was the Condor, MTS 505, flying probe tester. It now provides support for larger and heavier boards. When combined with the company’s latest measurement hardware it can provide even higher test coverage while keeping maintenance requirements extremely low.

With new software, new hardware innovations, comprehensive boundary scan integrations (JTAG Technologies/Göpel Electronic) and new flying and opens check probes, the new tester is equipped for the future of fixtureless testing.

Users can now probe the smallest components using the innovative technology of the new flying probe which allows closer probe distances. This in turn allows for even greater test coverage with more accurate probing.

Seica featured its Pilot4DV8 and Rapid 280 at the show.

It has 12 mobile test resources distributed on the two sides of the board under test, and its unique vertical architecture means that all resources are available at all times for testing.

A series of high level performances allow this system to maximise test speed, repeatability, test and positioning precision and fault coverage, even on the most advanced-technology boards, which are ever more complex, with high-density circuitry contained in very small dimensions. The system at this edition of productronica will be shown in the new pass-through configuration, integrated into a horizontal, automated line.
