Essemtec will exhibit at booth 7.135 at SMT/HYBRID/PACKAGING, scheduled to take place 5th to 7th May 2015, in Nuremberg. Representatives will demonstrate the company's Paraquda pick & place and Scorpion dispensing systems. Other highlights will be the Cubus Large SMT storage device and the flexible and Lynx pick & place system.

Paraquda G2 is the world’s first machine that combines jetting of solder paste/glue and placing of SMD components, within one platform. The multifunctional centre meets all requirements of a modern, highly flexible production system - quick changeover, intuitive operation and the combined usage of jet and/or needle valves. Being able to complete various processes with one machine eliminates the need of separate machines and reduces investment costs. Set up is done directly from imported CAD data using an integrated medium library.

At the show, Essemtec will highlight its quick change system for dispensing valves. The recently developed connector panel allows for easy and fast plug-and-play exchange of various dispensing valves. Up to two dispensing axes are mountable on Paraquda G2, and up to four on Scorpion G2. The quick change system provides an advantage for companies with large production volumes - exchanging the same types of valves on the same axis for a high volume throughput can be realised within a few seconds. No disassembling of covers and pushing/pulling on sensitive machine parts is needed.

The Cubus storage device is user configurable and adapts to dynamic manufacturing needs. There are no limitations in terms of reel sizes, reel widths or JEDEC trays. With its flexible shelf configuration, foolproof operation and easy line integration, it adapts to changing manufacturing environments. Thanks to its small footprint and high storage capacity (up to 932 reels), Cubus can be positioned close to any SMT manufacturing line. Cubus interfaces easily with pick & place machines, and thus greatly reduces kitting time and errors as well as machine interruptions due to missing or misplaced material.

Lynx bridges the gap between the Pantera X-plus and Paraquda SMT placement systems, suited for high-mix SMT production. With 180 feeder lanes on less than 0.9 square metres, it offers the highest feeder density on the market. The systems’ high component flexibility is combined with the capability to accurately place 0201 components backed by the latest digital camera, fast laser centering and image processing systems.
