PCIM Asia Shanghai will be held from 24-26th September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, which will bring together 265 domestic and international exhibitors presenting their latest products and technologies across the entire power electronics supply chain.
Running in parallel with the exhibition and conference is a full schedule of speaking events, including eight theme forums and two summits. These sessions will provide in-depth analysis of technological breakthroughs, new applications, and industry trends.
The focus for 2025 will be on high-growth application areas such as e-mobility, renewable energy, AI and data centres. Exhibitors will showcase a wide variety of technologies with products and solutions on display covering power semiconductors, passive components, materials and packaging technologies, testing and measurement equipment, covering the whole power electronics industry chain.
Held concurrently with the exhibition, the PCIM Asia Shanghai Conference will bring together experts from industry and academia to address key areas of power electronics including silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductor devices, motor drives and motion control, packaging and reliability and power conversion. The 2025 programme will feature a total of 95 presentations examining applications, advanced technologies and development trends in the field, delivered across a range of formats including keynote speeches, oral presentations, poster sessions and special sessions.
To better connect academic and industrial professionals and encourage deeper engagement beyond the formal presentations, the 2025 conference will introduce a new Dialogue with Speakers zone. Experts from companies such as AOI ELECTRONICS, Nanjing EPIC Power Technology, YiTong Semiconductor and Zhuhai ACCESS Semiconductor will be on hand for technical discussions and case analyses, allowing attendees to build professional connections and transform their ideas into new business opportunities on-site.
Alongside the on-site events, the organiser will hold the PCIM Asia Shanghai Tour – E-mobility on 26th September. This exclusive half-day tour for consultants from the advisory board, speakers and audiences, led by Professor Kang Jinsong of Tongji University, will include visits to the SAIC Volkswagen’s MEB smart factory and Tongji University National Maglev Transportation Engineering R&D Centre, concluding with a closed-door roundtable discussion on smart manufacturing.
Complementing the main conference programme, a series of theme forums will be open to all attendees at no cost. These sessions will cover key technical topics including wide bandgap semiconductors, power devices, materials and packaging, electrified transportation and AI and data centres, providing a platform for discussion with specialists on emerging technologies. The 2025 forums are sponsored by Keysight Technologies.
Among these will be the Semiconductor Rising Stars Summit, led and chaired by Professor Zhang Bo of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The summit will bring together innovators from across China’s power semiconductor value chain, from wafer production, process platforms, devices design, as well as modules and complete systems. Participants will present their latest advancements, including next-generation IGBT process platforms, SiC process platforms and power devices, reflecting the scale and current capabilities of China’s power semiconductor industry.
The programme also includes the Emerging Applications Summit, which will gather experts from industry, academia and research to address two key themes: the high-power-density challenges of power sources for low-altitude aircraft and the development of solid-state switches as next-generation, high-frequency, high-reliability topologies.
This year’s exhibition will include two dedicated zones highlighting key trends in the power electronics industry. The first, the Power Electronics for E-mobility Zone, will demonstrate the extensive role of power electronics in electric and hybrid vehicles. Through a combination of interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and equipment displays, the zone will showcase technologies for new energy vehicle applications, covering components from batteries, motors, and electronic controls to high-voltage power distribution units (PDU), onboard chargers (OBC), DC/DC converters and more.
Structured around the concept of ‘from materials to systems’, the Industrial Chain Display Zone will map the entire power electronics supply chain. It will cover the progression from foundational wide-bandgap wafers and power devices to advanced packaging, modules, and the final system-level solutions used in applications like energy storage, ultra-fast charging, rail transportation and computing power supplies, illustrating the key trends that define the power electronics sector’s role in global decarbonisation.
