MACOM showcase 12G-SDI portfolio for 4K at IBC 2014
At IBC 2014, September 12th to 16th in Amsterdam, M/A-COM Technology Solutions will host a series of live demonstrations highlighting its latest 12G-SDI chipset in Hall 8 Booth C01. The most recent data rate in the evolution of the SDI standard, 12G-SDI is required to support 4K video resolutions at 60FPS over a single coaxial cable or optical fibre.
Content providers are looking to maximise consumer’s visual experience by providing higher resolution 4K content, thanks to the increased proliferation of 4K capable displays. With this increased resolution, more data needs to be transmitted. 12G-SDI has dramatically improved the communication of 4K content. A material improvement over multiple 3G SDI streams, it enables a user friendly, lower cost, lower power and higher density solution that will allow stunning content in 4K resolution at 60FPS.
At the show, MACOM will highlight Ultra-HD 4K video transport solutions utilising its 12G-SDI cable drivers, adaptive cable equalisers, reclockers and crosspoint switches (all shipping now in volume). The company's 12G-SDI portfolio includes broadcast video routing and production switchers, broadcast video distribution amplifiers and broadcast video cameras and monitors.
