Kontron, a global provider of IoT/Embedded Computer Technology (ECT), is presenting its KBox B-201-RPL and KBox B-202-RPL Embedded Box PCs with powerful Intel Core processors of the 14th generation at embedded world 2024 in Nuremberg.

The update offers a significant increase in performance for demanding applications such as high-end image processing, SCADA/MES applications, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Kontron's KBox B series is characterised by its high computing power, versatile expandability, compact design, and low noise level (Whisper Quiet Operation).
The heart of the KBox B-20x-RPL remains the Kontron mITX motherboard K3833-Q, designed and manufactured in Germany, which now also supports the Intel Core processors of the 14th generation with the introduction of the BIOS R2.12.0 update. This not only increases performance, but also ensures longer system availability. The new Intel Core processors have up to 24 cores (eight Performance Cores and 16 Efficient Cores), which are based on the Intel Performance Hybrid Architecture.

With two GbE ports and ten USB ports (including USB-C), the KBox B-20x-RPL ensures high data throughput and connectivity. It also offers four DisplayPorts and a serial interface and, with an input voltage of 24VDC or 230VAC, is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. Furthermore, fast wireless connections can be enabled via Wi-Fi 6.

The KBox B-202-RPL offers one or two PCIe slots for versatile expansions. This allows network cards with up to 10GbE or PCIe graphics cards to be integrated. Alternatively, a 3.5” hard disk with up to 12TByte or two 2.5” removable drives can also be used.

The thermal concept with a low-noise fan ensures smooth operation at temperatures of up to +45°C and therefore continuous, high-availability use around the clock. The systems can also be integrated in a space-saving manner thanks to their compact design.

KBox B-20x-RPL systems with the Intel Core processors of the 14th generation will be available at the end of Q2/2024.
