High-speed video camera designed for low light machine vision

The main focus of Specialised Imaging’s stand at VISION 2016, in Stuttgart Germany, will be ultra-high-speed video camera and image intensifier systems for low light machine vision applications.

Visitors to Booth J73 will be able to see the 2016 Queens Award for Innovation winning Kirana ultra-high-speed video camera. The Kirana is the ultimate ultra-high-speed video camera combining the flexibility of video technology with the resolution of the ultra-high speed framing camera. Incorporating a proprietary hybrid image sensor, the compact Kirana can simultaneously deliver high resolution and high speed (up to five million frames per second) in a no-compromise design.

The full resolution of this video camera is maintained at all speeds. Comprehensive triggering facilities, highly accurate timing control and a wide range of output signals, coupled with a software package that simplifies image capture and analysis. Full remote operation over Ethernet comes as standard, enabling the Kirana to be easily integrated into almost any environment. The Kirana offers the performance, ease-of-use and operational flexibility that enables users to record and deliver impressive slow-motion video images in almost any scientific research application.

Also on display will be the SIL2 - a high performance gated image intensifier system designed to improve the sensitivity of high-speed video and camera systems used in low light machine vision applications. Extensive triggering facilities allow the SIL2 to be readily interfaced to most high-speed cameras, and in particular to high-speed video systems.

Constructed around high gain microchannel- plate image intensifiers, the SIL 2 provides a wide range of sensitivity, gain and resolution options to satisfy even the most demanding machine vision imaging applications.
