Firecomms, a global specialist in plastic optical fibre (POF) transceivers and fibre optic solutions, combining state-of the-art compound and silicon semiconductor technology with inventive small-scale integration, will exhibit at the 2024 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) in Booth #2035 at the Long Beach Convention Centre 25–29 February 2024.

Firecomms will showcase its complete line of plastic optical fibre transceivers and industrial grade interconnects that provide high voltage isolation and EMI immunity for high voltage DC drives, robotics, renewable energy, medical diagnostic equipment, diesel and electric traction, industrial power control systems, and other power electronics applications.

Firecomms products on display will include:

  • RedLink industrial grade plastic optical fibre transceivers (data rates from DC-1/5/10/50 MBd)
  • SMI transceivers compliant to IEEE1394b POF communication standard
  • OptoLock analog and industrial fibre optic transceivers (data rates from DC/5/10/125/250 Mbps) with quick bare POF terminations
  • Media converters with POF transceivers for high-bandwidth networks with Ethernet data
  • Cables and plugs include plastic optical fibre cables, LC plugs, and pre-assembled patch cords

With an anticipated attendance of more than 5,000, the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) is one of the leading conferences in North America for power electronics professionals, with a comprehensive technical programme featuring papers, presentations, and seminars on all aspects of power electronics. In addition, APEC’s sold-out exposition floor features more than 280 companies showing the latest in power electronic products, components, equipment, software, and services.

“Firecomms looks forward to showcasing our innovative plastic optical fibre solutions to the APEC audience,” said Bill Morrow, Head of Sales for Firecomms Americas. “Our POF devices are critical to providing robust EMI immunity and signal isolation for today’s high voltage power electronic systems in a way that traditional wiring connections do not.”

The Firecomms exhibit at APEC 2024 is co-located with distributor NAC Semiconductor, a global electronic component, manufacturing design services, and distribution solutions company.
