Digi-Key meet their Makers at Rome Faire

Adherents to the Maker Movement have become important customers for the high service distribution segment. That’s why Digi-Key Electronics and it’s maker tool, Maker.io will be exhibiting the latest technologies at the Maker Faire in Rome (October 14-16). Maker-friendly suppliers such as Adafruit, SparkFun, SEEED Studios, and Mikroelektronika will line up alongside the distributor.

Attendees will be able to learn about the company’s free online design tools and have an opportunity to win a complete electronics lab including an oscilloscope, function generator, bench power supply, soldering station, and much more.

In addition to Maker.io, Digi-Key will also be highlighting theAdafruit Circuit Playground, the latest creation from Ladyada. The Circuit Playground is an ideal sensor-based solution to help young and future engineers learn how to bring designs and ideas to life. It includes a motion, light, sound, and temperature sensor, speaker/buzzer, 10 neo-pixel LEDs, and can be programmed via the Arduino IDE.

SparkFun Sparcade will enable visitors to test their skills on this Intel Edison-based game that functions similarly to the classic arcade platform Tempest, while Beaglebone Green Wireless Blinds will show how easy it is to create temperature and light sensitive window blinds.

Initial State live data streaming, aggregation and visualisation is the latest solution for sensor-based IoT designs.

In addition Digi-Key tools and resources will be on parade. Visitors will be able to interact with some of the best tools available to help take designs from concept through to production. It is an opportunity to learn about Maker.io and its vision to bring solutions from Maker to Market, and interact with Scheme-it, an ideation tool available that allows designers to get their concepts started in an easy-to-use graphical format.
