Demystifying EMC seminar will cover wide range of topics

The content will cover aspects of product design, test, simulation, and regulations and standards, with a concluding panel Q&A for all participants to share in.

Now in its 6th year, Rohde & Schwarz’ Demystifying EMC seminar comprises presentations by experts from independent training partners and industrial partners, as well as Rohde & Schwarz specialists.

The five tracks let delegates choose from 18 sessions covering areas such as automotive, 5G, millimetre wave, and product compliance for European and world markets.

The day will begin with an introduction by Michael Derby, Secretary of the EMC Test Labs Association, and all delegates will get the chance to hear the keynote by Lee Hill of Silent Solutions as he shares his 30 years of EMC teaching, problem-solving, and electronic design experience.

Lee will also present university-level practical sessions throughout the day and as a bonus will discuss “The Case of the Unhappy Motorcycle Speedometer” to show how engineers can fix troublesome EMC problems.

Derby, speaking as Senior Regulatory Engineer and Director of ACB Europe, will co-present two sessions looking closely at the US FCC rules and European Radio Equipment Directive (RED).

Participants can choose from presentations across all five tracks including automotive subjects such as EV drivetrains and charging stations, millimetre-wave testing including 5G New Radio (5G NR), test facilities for new CISPR standards, CE marking, and an in-depth look at the mysterious subject of grounding.
