With the release of µWave Wizard V12.0, users can now complete the entire filter design cycle within a single environment. A schematic of a bandpass filter can be used to directly extract the coupling matrix, which in turn allows plotting of scattering parameters and seamless comparison or optimisation against physical dimensions – all inside the µWave Wizard interface. Dispersive effects occurring in medium and wide-band filters are modelled by frequency dependent coupling matrix elements.
This advancement removes the need to switch between multiple tools when working with complex filters such as triplets or quadruplets with transmission zeros. From the initial schematic and analysis, through matrix extraction, optimisation, and fine-tuning, to the ready-to-fabricate design, every stage is now consolidated in one intuitive User Interface. Along the way, 3D viewing of the design remains available, providing the user with visual feedback on the geometry as it evolves.
A pre-release demonstration of how µWave Wizard V12.0 takes users from the first sketch to the final optimised hardware design with unmatched efficiency will be given at EuMW 2025.
