Conference explore NERC compliant battery maintenance

Holding its 21st annual event this year from 7th-10th May is the Battcon 2017 Stationary Battery Conference and Trade Show, which will be held at the Orlando Renaissance at Seaworld. This internationally recognised forum for stationary battery users is focused on the design, selection, application and maintenance of stationary battery systems, and provides the opportunity for professional development and networking. The conference has more than 19 sessions for industry novices and seasoned battery professionals.

Battcon is an educational conference where battery users, engineers and manufacturers learn industry trends and best practices for manufacturing, safety, selection, installation, and use of stationary batteries. Educational sessions, delivered by leaders in the stationary battery industry, include presentations, open discussion panels, and breakouts geared to the utility, data centre, and telecom segments.

The 20,000 square foot trade show exhibit includes representatives from the industry’s leading companies, demonstrating new technologies and solutions.

Preconference seminars, led by industry professionals, provide deep technical information on the topics of implementing a NERC compliant battery maintenance programme; stationary battery basics; and beyond the fundamentals; advanced topics in lead acid batteries.

A focused session also explores the risk environment and battery hazards, and mitigation steps to ensure a safe environment.
