At the Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Show 2015, which takes place from 10th to 12th February, Intelliconnect (Europe) will be showcasing its cable harness assembly capabilities and RF and waterproof connectors.

RF cable assembly manufacturing services for assemblies using semi-rigid, conformable, LMR and RG cables, are now offered by the company. These cable assemblies are particularly suitable for high power amplifiers, RF combiners and filters, multi-beam antenna arrays and phased array radars in the security, medical, defence and aerospace sectors. Available for both high-volume and small batch requirements, these bespoke cable assemblies can operate from DC to 50GHz. Phase matched cable assemblies may also be specified.

At the event, Intelliconnect will be exhibiting its Pisces connectors, which meet IP68 when unmated. The Pisces series now includes additional connector and cable termination options suitable for many coaxial, triaxial and twinaxial waterproof connector groups. The connectors are now available in SMA, TNC and N Type cable plug options, which can be connected to a wide range of cables including many LMR, RG, semi-rigid and semi-flexible cable types. The Pisces connectors are also available in 75Ω variants, which are suitable for video camera security, environmental monitoring ocean buoys and traffic cameras, among other applications.

The company will also be showcasing IP67 and IP68 rated interconnect solutions for harsh environments, including N Type, SMC, SMA, TNC, Push-Pull and ABMS (harsh environment MCX). The SSMA is a smaller version of the SMA solution which provides higher frequency performance. For optimised VSWR, the male contact is designed to be the same size as the cable conductor, allowing the SSMA to be used as the mating pin. Featuring threaded coupling, the SMC provides outstanding broadband performance with low reflection DC to 10GHz. The SMC, which conforms to the interface dimensions of MIL-STD-348 p, offers a form-fit-and-function alternative to other connector sources.
