eMobility Expo World Congress 2023, the innovation event for the electrified, autonomous, connected and sustainable mobility industry that closed its first edition last week in Valencia (Spain), hosted the eMobility Startup Forum, a competition between the most innovative startups that presented the most disruptive technology-based solutions and business models in sustainable mobility.

The last day of the eMobility Expo World Congress recognised the most outstanding startups that are driving the advancement of sustainable mobility. Hydros Power, Theo, Gocleer and Rhyde were the companies that won the awards.

Integrating new models of sustainable mobility has been a key element for the prize. One of the award-winning companies was Hydros Power, a startup based on hydrogen solutions with the clear objective of redefining the concept of energy and bringing hydrogen to any place.

A member of the Alicante Science Park, the startup defines itself as a new-generation energy startup and is currently developing a power plant to produce, compress, store and supply hydrogen. They are committed to change towards a sustainable future, with the mission of transforming the energy model so that hydrogen becomes the natural choice for organisations and citizens.

Solutions to improve distribution and logistics also won awards at the event. This is the case of THEO, a semi-autonomous, emission-free tricycle, optimised for bicycle lanes, and which maximises functionality and safety. This robot offers an end-to-end delivery solution, making it ideally suited to the operations of on-demand delivery providers, such as food companies, e-commerce with immediate delivery and last-mile logistics companies.

Among the award winners is also Rhyde, which offers professionally reconditioned electric scooters and electric bicycles to give them a second life. This project aims to radically reduce the amount of e-waste generated by urban mobility and avoid greenhouse emissions from the manufacture of new vehicles. The startup is moving away from traditional production models and is committed to the circular economy, a formula that promotes the reuse and reconditioning of products, advocating the reduction of waste and the use of available resources.

Finally, Gocleer, a mobility data solution, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), that helps to understand and improve mobility habits to have a positive impact on the well-being of society and the planet, has also been distinguished as a disruptive project.

Gocleer is a platform that, through AI technology, gamification, and mobile telematics, helps cities accelerate the adoption of more sustainable, safe, and active mobility for commuters.

More than 400 participating startups

More than 400 startups from around the world competed in the first edition of this international startup event to showcase the solutions and business models they are creating to transform the mobility industry.

The first edition of the eMobility Startup Forum was held within the framework of the eMobility Expo World Congress, the largest congress on sustainable mobility in Europe, which was held this week in Valencia and brought together 5,794 professionals from 16 countries around the world.
