The Instrumentation Products Division Europe (IPDE) of Parker Hannifin, the global specialist in motion and control technologies, has announced the successful completion of the Fit For Hydrogen (F4H2) and fit for carbon capture, usage and storage (F4CCUS) programme, earning a granted status.

F4H2 and F4CCUS are managed by the Nuclear AMRC, part of the UK’s high value manufacturing catapult, based on its proven Fit For Nuclear (F4N) model of supplier development.

Having been selected from more than 90 companies that registered interest, Parker IPDE joined the programme over a year ago, along with other 29 other companies, in partnership with Zero Carbon Humber. All partners share a vision to decarbonise the UK’s most carbon-intensive region and transform the Humber into the world’s first net-zero industrial region by 2040.

The programme combined assessment against a variety of business excellence measures with sector-specific assessment and development activities, including the quality of company systems, product developmental systems, and general industry knowledge. Having met all the requirements, Parker IPDE has been awarded the granted status.

The manufacturing company, as a whole, has over 100 years of experience in various engineering fields and its involvement with hydrogen and the supply of components for such systems goes back a long way, over 50 years in fact. It all started with a significant contribution to one of the most ambitious hydrogen-dependent engineering projects of the past, which led to one of the greatest achievements in the history of man: NASA’s Apollo 11, launched from the Kennedy Space Centre, Cape Canaveral on 16th July 1969.

“A transition to clean technologies is vital for a sustainable future”, said Deborah Pollard, Business Development Leader Capital Projects North EMEA for Parker Hannifin’s Instrumentation Products Division Europe. “Hydrogen and CCUS are key to investing in our future, and Parker Hannifin's recent accreditation highlights our commitment to safety, quality management, and performance in these markets.”
