ROHM showcases the new automotive LDO regulator IC BD9xxN1 series (BD950N1G-C, BD933N1G-C, BD900N1G-C, BD950N1WG-C, BD933N1WG-C, BD900N1WG-C) optimised for primary (direct connection to 12V) power supplies in a wide range of applications, including powertrain, body, ADAS, and car infotainment.

ROHM’s new Nano Capâ technology increases design flexibility and reduces the resources needed to develop power supply circuits by enabling stable operation with fewer external components. ROHM developed its ultra-stable Nano Capâ technology for LDO (Low Drop Out) voltage regulator ICs.

Compared to conventional LDOs, this technology additionally uses current information to precisely regulate the output voltage. The combination of this Nano Capâ technology together with QuiCurâ technology now allows a substantial reduction in the output capacitor value together with significantly improved transient characteristics. The BD9xxN1 primary LDO for automotive applications prevents oscillation even with small output capacitances, reduces over and undershoot by a minimum of 77% vs conventional LDOs and helps to save resources, reduce PCB area, simplify designs, and cut costs.
