IBASE Technology, a pioneer in the design and manufacture of robust embedded computing platforms, is thrilled to announce that its AMI240 Multi-OS System has won the prestigious Best in Show Award from Embedded Computing Design in the computer boards, systems, components and peripherals category at this year's embedded world.

This recognition underscores IBASE's commitment to excellence and innovation in embedded technologies.

“Following the success of our SI-624-AI last year, we are honoured to receive this award once again as there were an incredible number of entries this year, and the judging process was as difficult as ever,” said Albert Lee, President of IBASE Technology. “Powered by the latest 14th Gen Intel Core processor with a wide operating temperature range of –20°C to 70°C, the AMI240 leverages Intel SR-IOV technology to unleash 6x OS (Windows 10 and 11, 2x Android 12, and 2x Ubuntu 22.04) in one system. Users have the flexibility to choose and switch between different OS based on their needs. The system meets various application requirements for low-latency and high-value embedded computing, such as remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and autonomous systems, which require a well-supported OS to optimise performance as software complexity rapidly increases.”

The implementation of Intel SR-IOV Enablement Toolkit defines a standard method for sharing a physical device function by partitioning the device into multiple virtual functions. Each virtual function is directly assigned to a virtual machine, thereby achieving near-native performance for the virtual machine. This can lead to better resource utilisation, cost savings, and energy efficiency in scenarios where different OS serve distinct purposes. Developers can use multi-OS environments for cross-platform development, testing, and debugging. This is critical to ensuring that software works seamlessly on different operating systems.

The AMI240 will be featured at IBASE booth 3-351 in hall 3 during embedded world show period from 9–11 April 2024.
