ENGO 2 VIVE is the latest evolution of ENGO’s head-up display sports glasses. Previewed at the Berlin Marathon, one of the most prestigious running events in the world, ENGO 2 VIVE smart glasses give endurance athletes access to essential performance data directly in their field of vision. Whilst running, athletes don’t need to break their rhythm to check their watch or phone, they get at-a-glance data on their heart rate, cadence, distance and pace.
New designs serving cutting-edge technology
After winning over athletes with ENGO 2, ENGO Eyewear unveils ENGO 2 VIVE, limited edition smart sunglasses that combine new lenses with improved contrast and a new range of colours (pink iridescence and silver). One of the VIVE models also incorporates the photochromic lenses that made the ENGO 2 so successful, automatically adjusting the tint according to ambient light for optimal visibility, day and night.
ENGO VIVE is powered by ActiveLook, leading Light Augmented Reality technology developed in Grenoble, France. ENGO engineers managed to integrate a MicroOLED projection display system with a brightness exceeding 1,000 nits into a design weighing only 36g, ensuring perfect readability in both sunlight and shade.

The display projects essential metrics 5-10meters in front of the athlete, directly in their natural line of sight. Heart rate, pace, power, cadence, running dynamics – all critical data appears without taking your eyes off your trajectory. A simple hand movement switches between data screens, contactless and without interrupting your workout. This approach eliminates interruptions related to checking your watch, transforming performance monitoring from an active task to a passive awareness. The athlete remains locked in their optimal effort zone, without breaking their flow.
ENGO VIVE’s battery life reaches 12 hours of continuous use (extendable to 24 hours by disabling the gesture sensor), thanks to advanced energy optimisation of the projection module and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. ENGO VIVE connects to leading fitness watches: Garmin, Apple Watch (including Strava Live Segments in augmented reality – an ENGO exclusive), and Suunto.
A dynamic and evolving sector
The arrival of new players in the smart glasses market confirms the growing interest in augmented reality. While some products specifically target content creation or other more mainstream usages, ENGO Eyewear remains focused on optimising athletic performance. Each product has its own specific use. ENGO’s ? Unleashing the full potential of endurance athletes.
Éric Marcellin-Dibon, founder of ENGO Eyewear said : “With ENGO 2 VIVE, we’re taking a new step forward. Augmented reality is already transforming sports, just as it’s revolutionising the consumer market. Athletes no longer want to worry about performance slipping or constantly checking their watches: they want to fully experience their effort, seamlessly, and with confidence. That’s exactly what we’re offering them with VIVE. The new High Contrast technology finally allows us to offer expressive colours that celebrate the unique identity of each athlete, without compromising on display readability or system performance.”
ENGO Vive was previewed at the Berlin Marathon during an exclusive MeetENGO event. A special moment that brought together the ENGO community: Team ENGO athletes, passionate users, and elite runners were all able to test the product during a collective ShakeOut Run, confirming the enthusiasm for this new generation of connected glasses and ushering in a new era of augmented running.
