Electronics Excellence Awards announces new lineup of judges
At electronica 2024, Electronic Specifier will once again be celebrating the very best of the industry with its Electronics Excellence Awards.
Launched at electronica in 2022, this award is the most rigorous and transparent award in the industry.
The judging panel for Electronic Specifier’s Electronics Excellence Awards features specially curated industry thought-leaders and electronics specialists.
All entries to the award will be independently scored after being discussed in-depth by our judges. The highest scoring entry will be our winner.

The judges are as follows:
James Davey, Vice President, Einfochips (an Arrow company) – EMEA
James is based in the UK and has more than 18 years of experience in the electronics industry, including senior regional and worldwide roles in semiconductor design, engineering, field sales and marketing at Microchip, Toshiba, Cadence Design Systems, and most recently, Arrow Electronics.
Mark Patrick, Director of Technical Content for EMEA, Mouser Electronics
Mark is responsible for creating and circulating technical content within the region – content that is key to Mouser’s strategy to support, inform, and inspire its engineering audience.
Before leading Technical Content, Mark was part of Mouser’s EMEA Supplier Marketing team and played a vital role in establishing and developing relationships with key manufacturing partners. Mark’s previous experience encompasses hands-on engineering roles, technical support, semiconductor technical sales, and various marketing positions.
A ‘hands-on’ engineer at heart, Mark holds a first-class Honors Degree in Electronics Engineering from Coventry University. He is passionate about vintage synthesisers and British motorcycles and thinks nothing of servicing or repairing either.
Marta Barbero, Product Manager, Arduino
Having joined Arduino in 2021, Marta has overall responsibility for the Arduino Pro Systems on Modules solutions as Product Manager.
Marta has a MSc in Mechatronics Engineering and has previous experience in leading the entire product life-cycle for autonomous guided vehicles at Comau, an industrial automation and robotics company.
Robert Owen, Consultant
Robert Owen created and directed three of the world’s leading industry to university programmes: for Texas Instruments, Imagination Technologies, and RS Components. In parallel, he created and ran a successful media business.
Across a generation he supervised the creation of packages of education materials which provide hands-on learning using industrially-proven technologies. These materials are enabling teachers of the next generation of engineers and programmers, to understand how to solve real-world problems with these technologies. To add strategic depth, in influential universities, he facilitated the development of productive links for joint research and recruitment.
Now in his 30th year in the field of Industry-to-Academia collaboration, working as a Consultant, Robert has unique insight into this market, and a formidable global network of relationships.
Simran Khokha, Product Manager for MCUs, Infineon
Simran has a Dual MSc Degree from NTU, Singapore and TUM, Germany in electrical engineering.
She has half a decade worth of experience in upcoming consumers product tech in major semiconductor giants, including several years in product development and designing within APAC region (Singapore) and now product management and marketing in Europe region (Germany), focusing across a host of segments including Automotive, IOT, and Consumer Electronics.
She has previously worked on the design of the first of its kind system on chip used for AI/ML, self-driving cars, and future applications. Her experience expands over companies like AMD, STMicroelectronics, and Infineon.
Stéphane Ratelet, Director, Business Development/Digital Solutions – EMEA, DigiKey
Stéphane develops and executes regional strategies to expand DigiKey’s market presence and enhance customer engagement.
Stéphane is also responsible for managing relationships with the 3rd party software partners and supports the implementation of direct API connections to assist customers with their digital transformation, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency.
Stéphane joined DigiKey in 2014, and over the years has held a variety of roles including international API champion and business development manager France. Prior to joining DigiKey, Stéphane had more than 10 years of electronic sales and engineering experience from EPIQ, ETRI, and RS Components.
