Atlas Magnetics and distributor Ineltek have agreed a Europe-wide distribution agreement.

Reno, Nevada-based Atlas Magnetics was founded by experts with years of chip design experience to revolutionize electronics development by minimizing the need for bulky passive components.

The central idea is to use advanced packaging to develop a new generation of ICs that can be used very flexible.

Atlas Magnetics’ innovations focus on the integration of passive components together with semiconductor ICs in one package. This reduces the space required on the PCB, simplifies production, improves reliability and lowers costs.

To achieve this goal, Atlas Magnetics has developed its own materials for passive components, e.g. to integrate extremely space-saving inductors using the latest packaging techniques.

With its µASICs, Atlas Magnetics also offers electronics developers completely new possibilities in electronic design.

These µASICs integrate LUTs, logic, timers, oscillators, analogue comparators, current sources, voltage references and in some cases even temperature sensors.

The interconnection of these blocks can be configured using the freely accessible in-house Atlas EDA software, allowing circuits that usually require various components on the PCB to be replaced by one IC, following the principle “Integrate 10 components, in 10 seconds for 10 cents”.

The advantages of the µASIC series include:

  • Low power: low Iq down to 500nA minimum
  • Low cost/Smaller PCB spaces: replacement of up to 10 components
  • Asynchronous design: response times in ns, not µs
  • Any-to-any connections: in contrast to an FPGA, any macrocell can be connected to any other macrocell
  • Uniform macrocells: simple transfer/extension of the design as required
  • Higher quality: no software crashes can occur due to hardware configuration, improves the FIT rate

In addition to the µASIC series, Atlas Magnetics’ product portfolio also includes PMICs and inductors that can be customized and produced.

The IP for integrated passive components, advanced DC/DC architectures and the know-how to enable configurability offer very high innovation potential.

The product range is rounded off by DC/DC modules and load switches for extremely compact applications that require robust protection functions.

Ineltek is exhibiting at embedded world 2024 in Nuremberg (April 9-11).
